Colorado Bouldering Trip
I love being a Manhattan girl but there are just some things that the city cant provide, like clean air and epic scenic views for example, so I was extremely excited when my cousin invited me to visit him in Colorado and my boyfriend suggested that we take a mini work retreat.
On my first trip to the Rocky Mountain state, my mission was to get as many scenic and wildlife shots as I could, and of course to visit Aspen and get that iconic shot of the Maroon Bells lake. Although I got some amazing scenic shots during my hikes I was not so fortunate with the wildlife. This time around I wanted to get what I missed out on last time, those legendary big horn sheep and buffalo. I also was quite excited to have my cousin teach me some bouldering and have the opportunity to do some extreme sports shooting.
Well, I didn't get to see any buffalo once again :( womp womp. I was, however, guaranteed some close up wildlife at the summit of Mt. Evans, so after building up the confidence I committed to wake up early as fuck to take the drive up the mountain. Finally I saw some sheep, a bittersweet moment because they were too young to have big horns. I also had the chance to watch a set of kid goats with their mom and got super close to some marmots. I love animals so much, seeing them in the wild is something I've always enjoyed.
Now lets talk about some extreme sports, Colorado is full of them. I had the opportunity to try out bouldering this time around. Being a workout junky I was really excited to learn about it and see how it was going to challenge my body. I will be honest its fucking terrifying but also extremely satisfying once you complete a problem, and its even more rewarding if you're doing it in the great outdoors with a beautiful scenic views. I can definitely see myself being more involved in this sport. If you have not tried it, I highly suggest you do so. Of course I was very excited to get some action shots of those that were with me and add to my extreme sports photography collection. Hope you enjoy these shots...Oh yea, you can go on to my personal IG and see me in action ;).
